"The new Chelsea" is what south Mumbai's burgeoning art district is being termed as. While that statement may be premature and perhaps a tad optimistic, there is certainly a lot of exciting progress that is taking place. Emerging artists, in particular, may be the biggest beneficiaries as the mushrooming of trendy new art galleries provides them with a platform they didn't have earlier.
