New satellite to enchance mobile telephony : ISRO

The Indian Space Research Oraganisation plans to launch a new satellite within the next three years, which will provide a direct link to the mobile phone handsets. The new technology will work on the lines of the direct-to-home (DTH) technology and will make mobile telephony cheaper and accessible even to the remotest part of the country.
