PM declares victory in election : Greece

The Greek Conservative Prime Minister Costas Karamanlis has declared a victory in general elections after early results gave his ruling New Democracy party a lead of over four per cent over the opposition Pasok socialists. Early results from over 60 per cent of polling stations showed the ruling conservatives leading the socialists by 43.05 percentage points to 38.6.
