12 cops suspended, recruits axed : UP recruitment scam

The Uttar Pradesh government exposed one of the biggest recruitment scams in the state and has suspended 12 Indian Police Service officers and given the boot to as many as 6,500 young police recruits. The recruitment drive conducted by the previous regime headed by Mulayam Singh Yadav has come under scrutiny by the current Mayawati government.
