The chaos in the global credit markets prompted investors to exit from high-yielding assets like emerging market equities and currencies, leading to the Rupee falling to its four-month low against the dollar. The rupee lost 1.5% to close at 41.36 versus the dollar against the previous close of 40.75/76.
