Tezpur airfield to be closed for repairs

A Defence press release stated that the Tezpur airfield in Guwahati, which is one of the oldest airfields in the North Eastern region will be closed to civil aviation for a year from October 1 for repair and re-surfing of the runway. However military helicopters will be permitted to operate.
