Howard refuses to apologise to Haneef

The Australian Prime Minister, John Howard, has ruled out the possibility of issuing an apology to the Indian doctor, Mohammed Haneef, who was detained for almost four weeks as a result of an error in the terror probe. Stating that, mistakes happen from time to time and when dealing with terrorism, Howard rejected the view that the Indian doctor was victimised.
