Sikh leaders seek trimming of big fat weddings

In a bid to discourage 'dowry harassment', Sikh leaders have called for an end to extravagent wedding celebrations, which result in promoting dowry and practices like female foeticide. The Delhi Gurdwara Management Committee, has instructed its clergy to refrain from giving wedding certificates to families who stray from its new guidelines.
