The Right to Information (RTI) Act has been passed in October 2005 in India. Nearly two years since, the Indian Embassy in Washington DC has implemented the Right to Information bringing its operations fully under the Act's purview. Thus, permitting an Indian citizen to file a RTI application with the Public Information Officer at the Indian Embassy.
