Controversial author Sir Salman Rushdie and his wife Padma Lakshmi are about to get divorced, according to friends of the couple. There have been rumours of the relationship between the 60-year-old Rushdie and his 36-year-old model wife to have been under strain, but according to sources Lakshmi now regards the marriage as over.
