There is strong evidence pointing towards the correlation between narcotics trafficking in Afghanistan and the Taliban insurgency.Around 92 per cent of the world's heroin comes from poppies grown in Afghanistan. Helmand province in southern Afghanistan, severely threatened by insurgency, is becoming the world's biggest drug supplier.
