Pakistan: Anti-Rushdie protests across the country

Pakistan on Friday observed a countrywide protest against the knighthood awarded to Salman Rushdie by the British government. The Pakistani National Assembly unanimously adopted a resolution on Friday, asking the Blair government to immediately withdraw the knighthood which has hurt the feelings of the entire Muslim community.
