Former minister in Zia cabinet sentenced

Amanullah Aman, who was a state minister for labour in former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia's cabinet, has been sentenced to 13 years in jail for amassing wealth through illegal means, by an anti-corruption court in Bangladesh. The court also handed a three-year sentence to Amanullah Aman’s wife for giving false information on their personal wealth to the anti-corruption commission.
