Cong to play gender card for Patil

The UPA leadership plans to use the gender issue as the main thrust of its campaign and is also planning to reach out to parties outside the ambit of the UPA in an effort to ensure Pratibha Patil’s victory in the Presidential elections on July 19.
“She is a woman of stature and great dignity, we are proud to have her as our candidate,” says parliamentary affairs minister Priyaranjan Dasmunsi.
