VP Investor Relations of Sun Pharma, Uday Baldota, says that the company has not yet decided whether to launch Pantoprazole an anti-ulcer drug,which has a US market of over USD1 billion. This drug is the generic version of Wyeth's Protonix and Sun Pharma has received USFDA nod to market Pantoprazole tablets.

The Indian markets continue to be on a downtrend in line with its Asian peers. Stocks of the banking, realty and metal sectors are the worst hit today. The market breadth is negative and the volume is lower today. The Rupee has depreciated slightly and is trading at 41.11 against dollar. At 10.38 am, the Sensex is down 573.42 points or 3.82% at 14427.49, and the Nifty down 172.05 points or 3.94%

Leading current affairs network, GBN, is entering into a joint venture with print media heavyweight Lokmat, to launch a 24-hour Marathi news & current affairs channel. It is likely to be a 50:50 joint venture and the channel will go on-air by year-end, Sameer Manchanda, Joint MD of GBN, said.
