India getting more honest : Transparency Intl

We can honestly say that as a nation we are not the most honest, but we are getting there. India is ranked 72 among 180 countries in the corruption index in 2008 and has marginally improved its position as comnpared to last year. According to Transparency International, India's integrity index has marginally improved to 3.5 in 2007 from 3.3 a year ago on a scale of 10 points.

The Pakistani skipper Shoaib Malik received flak for his comments during the post-match ceremony wherein he thanked 'Muslims' worldwide for their support and apologised for losing the match. The mother of Irfan and Yusuf Pathan, Shamim Bano expressed her surprise at Malik's comments. She said, "Shoaib must have said that for his own countrymen, how can he speak for all the Muslims of the world?

The US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice was proud that the Bush administration toppled Saddam Hussein and dismissed the view of leading Democrats and a majority of Americans that invading Iraq was a mistake. "I am proud that we overthrew Saddam Hussein," she said. "I don't consider it an issue of legacy, I consider it an issue of having done the right thing."

New satellite to enchance mobile telephony : ISRO

Thai Air Crash : At least 88 passengers killed
