India was the flavour of the day on the first day of the big TV conference Mipcom, which is currently on this week in Cannes, France. Vishal Gondal, the head of Indiagames dismissed TV as “boring” for the 54 percent of Indians under 25, but added that 'games rock'. The Zee Group CMD Subhash Chandra said that India had the potential to become the largest pay TV market in the world.

Rumours of takeover bid for rediff.com resurface

Rumours have resurfaced that Rediff is on the block, sending the company’s shares up during trading, before giving up some gains. Analyst Ashish Thadhani of Gilford Securities called the company an attractive target in theory, but denied that any deal is imminent.

ADAG targets retail on mobile

The Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group (ADAG) plans to launch a retail business under the brand name Mobi-Retail around the first quarter of 2008 with a sales target of Rs 4,000 crore in the first year itself. The service will be provided to the 35 million subscribers of Reliance Communications, who who will be able to use their handsets to buy over 100,000 products.

The latest news is that Yellojobs.com, which powered NDTV's job website NDTVjobs.com, has decided to go solo within a year of partnering the news channel. The main url http://in.yellojobs.com/, which used to link to the NDTVjobs site, no longer does. However, NDTVjobs.com still has all the content from Yellojobs.
