According to a study, India, Russia, China and Vietnam top the list of the most attractive emerging markets for retail investment in 2007.The study was based on four parameters, "country risk," measuring political risk, debt and credit ratings; "market attractiveness," encompassing retail sales per capita, population, infrastructure and regulations; "market saturation;" and "time pressure."

Indian wholesale price inflation eased to its lowest in 10 months, holding within the Reserve Bank of India's comfort zone, but analysts said strong industrial growth meant the central bank would remain vigilant.The widely tracked wholesale price index rose 4.80 percent in the 12 months to June 2, slowing from 4.85 percent a week earlier and well below a two-year high of 6.69 percent in January.

Real estate firm DLF Ltd. priced its IPO in the middle of the indicative price range due to muted retail interest, bankers said on Friday, valuing the country's largest developer at nearly $22 billion.The company had set a band of 500-550 rupees a share after discussions with bankers.

A bomb exploded in a crowded market place in Assam on Saturday, killing seven people and wounding 18, police said.The bomb was hidden in a rickshaw parked in the busy market area in central Guwahati.
