Brihanmumbai Electric Supply and Transport Undertaking (BEST) wants to charge an additional Rs 2 per unit from its 9.5 lakh consumers in the island city towards fuel adjustment charges (FAC). The money will go towards reducing its annual Rs 500-odd crore loss. BEST is paying Rs 1.95 per unit to its supplier Tata Power Company while it is recovering only 54 paise from consumers, officials said.
