Speakers at a workshop said the newspaper was a dying breed but could avoid extinction by modernising its approach and extending its digital reach.

TCS to add 5,000 workers in Mexico

Tata Consultancy Services Ltd, India's largest computer-services provider, plans to hire 5,000 workers in Mexico in the next five years as labour costs climb in its home market because of a rising rupee. Tata Consultancy last week opened a software-development centre in Mexico and that facility will start with about 300 employees doing tasks currently completed in India.

Another bodyguard of Tiger Memon, a prime accused in the 1993 serial bombings here, was on Wednesday awarded life sentence on two counts for his role in the horrible terror attack.Sardar Shahvali Khan was convicted on two counts, criminal conspiracy and aiding and abetting a terror act. A fine of Rs100,00 was also imposed on him by the anti-terror TADA court here.
