In a shocking incident, according to eyewitnesses, a woman reportedly got out of a Honda City car and threw a bundle into a bin. The noises of a baby crying attracted the attention of people, who upon opening the bundle, discovered a newborn child. The baby is currently in a hospital and it's condition is reportedly stable.

The attack on fashion designer Tarveen Suri, wherein two unidentified men threw acid at her, poured kerosene over her and attempted to immolate her appears to be a crime of passion. It is alleged that the attack was carried at the behest of Rachna, who is a colleague of Tarveen’s husband Navin. Rachna and Navin were rumoured to be having an affair.

Former Afghan Ruler no more

Zahir Shah, the former king of Afghanistan, has died at the age of 92 following a long illness. Shah was deposed in 1973 and went into exile, but returned to Afghanistan after the fall of the Taliban in 2002. Most Afghans have a deep love towards their former ruler, whose 40-year reign was associated with peace, security and modest political reform.

New deadline for Korean hostages: taliban
