Overseas markets down, outlook seems bleak

The US and Asian indices were on a downtrend with Japan's Nikkei 225 Stock Average dropping 0.3 percent to 16,271.08 and the Kospi index declining 1.1 percent in South Korea. Meanwhile, the Standard & Poor's 500 Index lost 1.57, or 0.1 per cent, to 1,462.5, the Dow Jones Industrial Average decreased 0.25 to 13,235.88 and Nasdaq Composite Index slipped 11.1, or 0.4 percent, to 2,541.70.

Musharraf: Sharif can return home

Hours after the Pakistan Supreme Court granted Nawaz Sharif the permission to return to the country, the Pakistan's President Pervez Musharraf said that the former premier could return home. As per a new resolution of the state government with regard to changes in the FSI rules for IT/ITeS parks, the builders will be enabled to make a much more profitable use of 100% extra floor space index (FSI) granted to them for IT/ITeS parks. A portion of the extra FSI can be used by the builders for establishments which provide financial services such as banks, insurance companies etc.
