The Big B has been served a notice by the Uttar Pradesh Information Commission asking him to explain the basis of his state election slogan which suggested low crime rate in the state. Amitabh Bachchan's slogan ‘UP mein hai dum, jurm hai yahan kam’ in an advertisement was aired by television channels during assembly polls in Uttar Pradesh this year.

The second mobile court in the country, was inaugurated on Tuesday in the town of Hoshiarpur -one of the most backward areas of Punjab. The air-conditioned mobile bus, custom-made to function as a moving courtwas jointly inaugurated by Punjab and Haryana High Court Chief Justice Vijender Jain and Punjab Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal at Talwara.

Arundhati, an 80-year-old elephant, at Dehradun's Rajaji National Park, succumbed to her injuries before park authorities could put her to sleep.
