The interim government in the Emergency-ruled state of Bangladesh has come out with a new list comprising high profile corruption suspects. The list which was disseminated by State-run BSS news agency, names 80 suspects, including bureaucrats, businessmen, a retired high court judge and adviser of the former caretaker government and a NGO leader.

NASA's Oppurtunity in a crater

The NASA's space rover Opportunity has arrived at its first destination, a huge Martian crater and was poised to carry out the first science experiments. Controllers from the ground planned to send commands later in the day to the six-wheel robot to examine bright rock layers arranged like a bathtub ring within Victoria Crater.

'Majority Indians against mid-term elections' : Poll

According to an opinion poll conducted by the Outlook magazine, a majority of 63 per cent Indians are opposed to mid-term elections. While 61 per cent people in urban areas oppose mid-term polls, in rural areas 68 per cent are against it. Also, fifty-two per cent people are backing the Indo-US nuclear deal, while 21 per cent are against it and 27 per cent are unaware of the agreement.

The Bishnoi community responded to the Jodhpur District and Sessions Court's decision to uphold the five-year sentence awarded to Salman Khan by saying that it is a correct decision. Social crusader Baba Amte was admitted to a private hospital in Nagpur on Friday night following uneasiness. However, Amte's condition was reported as satble. The 92-year old Amte complained of uneasiness due to urine infection and after initial treatment at his Anandwan Ashram at Warora in Chandrapur district was shifted to a private nursing home.
