An NRI woman has been arrested for the murder of her two teenaged daughters in Strethem, Cambridgeshire. Rekha Kumari-Baker, 39, was arrested following discovery of the bodies of sisters Jasmine, 13, and Davina, 16, at her home on Wednesday and was being questioned on Thursday, police said.

Protests by Shiv Sena’s youth wing against three schools in Central Mumbai for allegedly overcharging students have taken a racial turn. Father Ernest Fernandes, Manager of Worli’s Sacred Heart School, where members of Bhartiya Vidhyarthi Sena (BVS) carried out protests on June 11, said the three schools were targeted by the Sena because they were being run by Catholic organisations.

Two women, convicted for their role in the 1993 serial blasts in Mumbai, were on Thursday sentenced by a special TADA court to five years rigorous imprisonment. The two women are Mubina Bhiwandiwala and Zebunissa Qazi.The court also awarded life sentence to Salim Sheikh, who was part of a group that threw grenades in the Fishermen Colony in Mahim, during the blasts.
