750 huts razed for widening Mithi

As part of the Mithi River Development Project, the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Saturday undertook a demolition drive in Kurla (W) where around 750 hutments on the bank of the river were pulled down. Mithi River is being widened to 100 metre on the downstream of airport to Kurla side and roads of 12 metre width are being constructed on either side.

Former captain Marvan Atapattu faces possible disciplinary action after opting out of Sri Lanka's forthcoming cricket test series against Bangladesh.Atapattu, 36, was recalled to the test squad for the first time in 18 months earlier this month but later sent an email to Sri Lanka Cricket that said he was unable to play due to personal reasons.

Atlantis crew completes last spacewalk

Astronauts put the final touches on a new solar power unit for the International Space Station on Sunday in their last spacewalk before the scheduled departure of the shuttle Atlantis on Tuesday. Still to come on Monday is a test to make sure the space station's guidance system is in good shape after a computer crash last week.
