Google Inc, the owners of the social networking site Orkut, stated that they have removed the fake profile of Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Mayawati from the website. The spokesperson for Orkut said, "We take violations of Orkut's policy very seriously as such activities diminish the experience of our users. When we learn about illegal or inappropriate content we act quickly to remove it".

Fashion designer Anand Jon was summoned to a court on Tuesday on charges of 40 felony and misdemeanour counts, including rape, sexual battery and committing a lewd act on a child. Jon changed lawyers and the judge postponed the setting of his preliminary hearing date until September 26.

The doctors attending to Kafeel Ahmed - the terror suspect who drove the blazing jeep into the Glasgow airport terminal on June 30 - say that the chances of him surviving are very remote. Ahmed, who sustained 90 per cent burns to his body with third-degree burns over most of his torso and limbs is susceptible to infections and will be unable to fight it.

In a shocking case, a woman had to give birth to a child under a tree near a government hospital after a doctor refused to have her admitted in the hospital as her husband failed to pay the fee of Rs.2,000. This took place at the government-run Community Health Centre in the coastal Jagatsinghpur district, around 100 km from Bhubaneswar in Orissa.
