3,000 workers trapped in gold mine : S Africa

Almost 3000 miners were trapped more than a mile underground when a column of water pipes fell down on an elevator shaft causing extensive damages in a mine in South Africa. The company and union officials of the Harmony Gold Mining Co. said that there were no injuries and there was no immediate danger to any of the workers.

ICICI bank made an ex-gratia payment of Rs 15.50 lakh to the family of a debtor, who committed suicide due to the coercive tactics used by the bank's loan recovery agents. India, Canada sign agreement for N-research
