ICICI bank made an ex-gratia payment of Rs 15.50 lakh to the family of a debtor, who committed suicide due to the coercive tactics used by the bank's loan recovery agents. Prakash Sarwankar (38), a resident of Andheri, had ended his life, leaving behind a family of four, comprising his wife and three daughters.

In a tragic incident, the 30-year old daughter of a retired assistant commissioner of Delhi Police was killed while attempting to prevent her father from committing suicide. Major Megha Razdan, 26, the Lady Officer who was found hanging from a ceiling fan on Sunday, may have been murdered, according to sources in the Army.
