The Finance Minister P Chidambaram said that it would be a monumental waste if India were to let go of the opportunity presented by the civil nuclear deal with the US. Rural perspective of the N-deal not considered

Inspite of the fact that 70 per cent of the Indian population lives in rural areas, the dicussions regarding the nuclear deal have failed to address the perspective of the 'aam admi' i.e. the common man. The rural perspective is critical for several reasons, mainly the pathetic power situation face by poeple in rural areas.
