The son of former Pakistani Premier Nawaz Sharif said that his dad would return to Pakistan between November 15 and 30. Sharif who attempted to return to Pakistan, was deported to Saudi Arabia on September 10 within hours of setting foot on Pakistani soil after a seven-year exile.

Saudi Arabia warmly welcomed Nawaz Sharif - who was was greeted by the Saudi intelligence chief Prince Miqren bin Abdul Aziz - saying it welcomed the return of the former Pakistani premier to his former exile home. "Nawaz Sharif is a guest of Saudi Arabia, which welcomed his coming to live in the kingdom once again," the official SPA news agency said.

Pakistan's Minister of State for Information Tariq Azim said that the former Pakistani Premier Nawaz Sharif chose to return into exile in order to avoid being detained and standing trial on corruption charges. The minister also denied that Sharif had been deported.

The former Pakistani Premier's return to Pakistan after a seven year exile was shortlived as he was deported back to Jeddah in Saudi Arabia. Nawaz Sharif returned to Pakistan hoping to overthrow the President Musharraf, however, four hours after he arrived in Pakistan, he was taken into custody and charged with corruption and was flown out of Pakistan.

The former Pakistani Premier Nawaz Sharif has returned to Pakistan from exile to lead a campaign to topple the Pervez Musharraf-led military regime. Sharif was ousted in a military coup by Musharraf eight years ago. The former PM prior to leaving London claimed that the President Musharraf government might try to arrest or deport him upon landing in Pakistan.

The former Pakistan Premier Nawaz Sharif who is currently in exile, has announced that he will return home on September 10 and participate in the general elections. "I will land on September 10 at Islamabad airport from where I will go to Lahore via motorway," Sharif told the media persons.

Hours after the Pakistan Supreme Court granted Nawaz Sharif the permission to return to the country, the Pakistan's President Pervez Musharraf said that the former premier could return home. The President said that Sharif had gone into exile by his own choice, as he wanted his jail term to be remitted.
