Indian-born singer Shayan Italia hopes to make it big in the music industry. The 28-year-old auctioned off shares in his future earnings on auction site eBay, bringing in 9,000 pounds ($24,000) from three investors in London, New York and Toronto. Italia is set to release his first album, produced and marketed with his investors' money and without the help of a major record label.

The late Princess Diana's dress which she had worn to the 1987 Cannes Film Festival and at the London opening of Miss Saigon will be auctioned on the internet portal ebay.com, the proceeds of which will go to charity.The silk chiffon evening dress is among 79 outfits that the princess had auctioned off for charity at Christie's in New York in June 1997.

The Nehru Memorial Museum and Library (NMML) hopes to acquire the rare manuscript written by Mahatma Gandhi 19 days before his assassination.With the auction house agreeing to withdraw the manuscript from Tuesday's auction, the NMML is keeping it's fingers crossed in anticipation of receiving possession of it.

The person who had put up Mahatma Gandhi's last letter for sale has withdrawn it from auction to enable the Indian government to acquire it. According to the British High Commission, the Indian government has not yet approached them for acquiring a letter written by Mahatma Gandhi that is being auctioned by Christie's in London next.With less than a week to go, before the letter goes under the hammer the Indian government is trying it's best to acquire the letter, however Christie's plans to go ahead with the auction.
