MUMBAI: Partial recovery in the Indian market was short-lived as dismal Index of Industrial Production (IIP) data for August 2008 indicated an “industrial recession.”
Industrial growth slowed to a mere 1.3 per cent against 10.9 per cent (YoY). Major blows to the decline came from capital goods, manufacturing and mining sectors.
