unusually enamoured by the rare sight of VVS Laxman overshadowing an in-form Sachin Tendulkar
during the Sydney Test.
Apart from the many unpleasant stories related to the spiteful Sydney match, Symonds also had a pleasant observation about Indians which he

Even 20 minutes after his dismissal, Sourav Ganguly could be seen all padded up in the Indian dressing room. There was a bewildered look on his face, a shocked expression in his eye: clearly, this wasn’t the fairytale finish that he had been dreaming of over the last few weeks.
He walked in to bat for the last time at a delicate moment, with the match poised on a sharp edge. Virender Sehwag had g

VVS Laxman made a stylish half century in his 100th Test match, Sourav Ganguly might yet reach the magical three-figure mark in his final game wearing the blue India cap, and Sachin Tendulkar, by sheer force of habit, notched up his 40th hundred to keep the limelight trained on himself despite the hoopla surrounding the aforementioned two.
These wonderful knocks apart, there was a blazing 66 from

VVS Laxman tells Nihal Koshie he is proud to have bounced back stronger from setbacks
What were your dreams?
As a kid I wanted to become a doctor. My dad, who is a doctor, was my role model. However, by the time I reached Class XI and then Class XII, I got opportunities to play cricket. By the time I reached class XII, I was part of the Hyderabad Ranji team. My uncle convinced me and my paren

As the evening sun went down behind the dressing room, Amit Mishra angled in from the Delhi Gate End to bowl to Simon Katich. The ball pitched some two feet outside his off stump and thudded on to his pads. The leg-before appeal was turned down; such was the amount of spin that it would have missed the leg-stump by a long way.
The late signs bode well for the Indians who had a near-perfect second

Off came the helmet and the gloves. The bat was raised to acknowledge the Delhi crowd and his team mates standing in the dressing room balcony applauding his 100. Then came the strange gesture, VVS Laxman rolled his left-arm over.
He wanted to send some message across, as he later told the media to left-arm pacer Zaheer Khan. The contents of the message were kept secret but we guess he wanted to

Gautam Gambhir and VVS Laxman continued to score freely as both the batsmen piled on the runs for the hosts. Both batsmen continued to play aggressive cricket as they played some attacking shots to India past the 300 mark. India were 337/3.
The Australians on the other hand also intoduced the new ball in the attack to put pressure on the Indian batsmen, but were still to get any success from it.
