A powerful undersea earthquake with a magnitude of 6.2 struck eastern Indonesia on Friday. However no tsunami warning has been issued and there were no immediate reports of damage. The quake was recorded 40 miles beneath the Banda Sea. Indonesia, which is the world's largest archipelago, is prone to seismic upheaval due to its location on the so-called Pacific "Ring of Fire".
