The Saurashtra region of Gujarat was returning to normalcy after five days of torrential downpour and floods that claimed 12 lives. The region which is normally rain-deficient, wore a worried look as clouds hovered over Rajkot, Jamnagar, Porbandar districts.

Many parts of Kerala recieved heavy rainfall in the last 24 hours, causing extensive losses and destruction. About 200 families were shifted to relief camps, mostly in Idukki and Wayanad districts. Four people were injured in landslides in ere injured in landslips in Idukki and Palakkad where 15 houses were destroyed.
