According to former Indian coach Greg Chappell only one tour game before the first cricket Test could leave the Indian team under-prepared for the tough tour of Australia later this year. India will play only one three-day tour match against Victoria before the traditional Boxing Day Test against the world champions starting December 26.

After the world cup debacle, the general interest in cricket was on a decline, however, with the recent victory of the Indian team, advertisers have once again shown interest in sponsoring the team. The television advertising market in India is worth Rs 6000 crore and is growing at an annual rate of over 12 per cent and cricet's share in that pie is around 10 percent or Rs 600 crore.
