Bangladeshi writer Taslima Nasreen controversy has given fuel to Narendra Modi ahead of the Gujarat polls. The Chief Minister is using this as a stick to beat the Congress and the Central government.
While the Centre and the West Bengal government still look for a safe haven for the Taslima, Modi has invited her to stay in Gujarat.

A "death warrant" has been issued against Bangladeshi writer Taslima Nasreen if she did not pack her bags and leave India. Syed Noor-ur-Rehman Barkati, the shahi imam of Tippu Sultan Mosque in Kolkata said that anyone 'eliminating' the author would receive Rs 100,000 and unlimited rewards.

The Hyderabad police have registered a case against Akbaruddin Owaisi, the leader of the Majlis-e-Ittedhadul Muslimeen (MIM) on charges of threatening to kill Bangladeshi writer Taslima Nasreen. Owaisi has been booked on charges of criminal intimidation however he denied issuing any threat to kill Nasreen if she visits Hyderabad again.

The Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (MIM) has threatened to behead Taslima Nasreen, if she were to ever return to the city of Hyderabad. The controversial Bangladeshi author was attacked by the legislators and cadres of the MIM earlier. The MIM leader Akbaruddin Owaisi claimed that anyone who commits blasphemy deserved to be beheaded.

A fatwa has been issued against controversial Bangladeshi author Taslima Nasreen by a Muslim cleric Noorul Rahman Barkati. The cleric issued the fatwa to blacken the face of the author and also demanded that she be immediately expelled from India. Barkati also claimed that he had offered a reward of Rs 50,000 for anybody who would blacken Taslima's face.
