The Taj Mahal which is a world renowned monument of love is turning yellow on account of dust and dirt. The white marble surface of the 17th century marvel - which was recently voted one of the new Seven Wonders of the world - has acquired a somewhat yellowish appearance due to a high level of Suspected Particulate Matter (SPM) in the air.

According to the results of the global poll for the new Seven Wonders of the World, the ones that made it to the top seven include India’s Taj Mahal, the Great Wall of China, Jordan’s Petra, Brazil’s statue of Christ Redeemer, Peru’s Machu Picchu, Mexico’s Chichen Itza pyramid and the Colosseum in Rome.
