Railway stations in North Bengal have been put on alert after a bomb exploded in a passenger train compartment in Karbi Anglong district of Assam on Tuesday.
Superintendent of Railway Police Sanjiv Kumar Basu told PTI that as soon as news of the Assam blast was received, senior police officials rushed to New Jalpaiguri and other railway stations and reviewed the security measures.
