In a shocking case, a woman had to give birth to a child under a tree near a government hospital after a doctor refused to have her admitted in the hospital as her husband failed to pay the fee of Rs.2,000. This took place at the government-run Community Health Centre in the coastal Jagatsinghpur district, around 100 km from Bhubaneswar in Orissa.

A man in Orissa, Sutari Nayak, claims to eat raw snake meat 'for fun'. Surprisingly, Nayak, has not developed any health disorders due to this practice.Besides, he also performs stunts with the snakes and earns some money by showing how the reptiles obey his commands. "I do this just because of fun and my liking for snakes," he said.
