China said that there were 'different views' about the 123 neclear deal between the United States and India and called for such deals to stay in line with international safeguards. As per the 123 Agreement, the deal between New Delhi and Washington would offer India US fuel and reactors while allowing it to stay out of the nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty.

The Pakistani Foreign Office has said that Pakistan will not sign the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty as its atomic capability is very much essential to maintain strategic balance of power in South Asia. Pakistan maintains that since India has declined from signing the NPT, Pakistan will not do so either.
