Heavy rains over the weekend, reminded Mumbai of a terrible day two years ago when the city not just came to a stand still but was literally felled to its knees. Memories of 26/7 are still fresh in the minds of Mumbaikars, when it rained 944 mm in 24 hours. On Saturday, this year, it was less than half-- 430mm in just about 24 hours.

Heavy rains: Railway services affected

The Central Railway's services were affected on account of incessant rains, which resulted in flooding of railway tracks.According to Railway officials, at least 17 outstation trains from the city, including the inter-city trains, had to be cancelled and many rescheduled. Even the Western Railway faced problems with many trains being cancelled or running behind schedule.
