Kevin Pietersen has announced that he isn't in the running to be the captain of his side. Michael Vaughan recently stepped down as captain of the England team and the favourite to replace him would be all-rounder Paul Collingwood. England will name their new one-day captain on Friday.

Michael Vaughan resigned as England's one-day captain with immediate effect here on Monday.But Vaughan, in a statement issued by the England and Wales Cricket Board after close of play on the fourth day of the fourth Test against the West Indies, said he would continue as a one-day international cricketer.

England captain Michael Vaughan paid tribute to Ian Botham after the cricket great was awarded a knighthood by Britain's Queen Elizabeth II in the Birthday Honours list announced on Saturday. The 51-year-old former England all-rounder,was awarded the knighthood for his services to cricket and cancer charities, having raised more than $23.53 million with a series of long-distance walks.
