The Hyderababd police have launched a massive search operation to find the missing RDX allegedly smuggled into the state, while 15 people, including key terror suspect Mohammed Shahed alias Bilal, have been booked for conspiring to carry out bomb attacks. According to the police, only a small portion of the RDX consignment was used in Mecca Masjid blast on May 18.

A person who allegedly masterminded the Mecca Mosque blast in Hyderabad and provided logistics for the recent blasts in the Andhra Pradesh capital has been detained by the Bangladesh Police. Accordign to sources in the security agencies, Mohammad Sharifuddin, a Bangladeshi HUJI operative, has been picked up by the Bangladeshi police and is currently being interrogated.

Mohammed Abdul Kareem Quadri, an ISI courier, who was arrested on July 15, is reportedly an aide of the mastermind of the Mecca Masjid bomb blasts on May 18. Police sources claim, that Qadri, was frequently in touch with Shahed alias Bilal, the alleged mastermind behind the masjid blasts.

Majlis-e-Ittehaadul Muslimeen leader and Hyderabad member of Parliament Asaduddin Owaisi on Monday urged the State Human Rights Commission to treat the killing of five persons in the police firing in the aftermath of the bomb blasts at Mecca Masjid on May 18 as "homicidal deaths."

The CBI probe into the Mecca Masjid bomb blast, which killed 11 people, case commenced on Monday with a team of agency arriving here and holding discussion with the city police top brass after registering a case. An alleged Lashkar-e-Tayiba operative held near the Bangladesh border in April has been sent to judicial remand in Hyderabad in connection with the bomb blast in Mecca Masjid, officials said on Thursday.Nayeem alias Sameer was earlier in the custody of Mumbai police and was brought to Hyderabad on a transit warrant. He was remanded to judicial custody for 14 days.

On May 18, one of the camera footages showed one Andhra policeman supposedly defusing a third bomb that was claimed to be found near the Hyderabad Mecca Masjid immediately after the blasts. An inquiry by the department reveals that this wasn't a bomb at all. It was, in fact a tiffin-box full of rice.
