Tarkundi (Poonch): Samim Bir lives barely 50 metres away from the border fence at the Line of Control (LoC). His village, Tarkundi, has only two houses and six voters. Despite that, a polling station has been set up for the families at the LoC to allow them to exercise their right to vote. "For six people we have a polling station. This is called democracy," says Tarkundi sarpanch Lal Hussain.

India, Pakistan agree to start trade across LoC

New Delhi: After a long delay, India and Pakistan on Monday finally agreed to initiate trade across the Line of Control (LoC). The trade will begin from the Srinagar-Muzaffarabad and Poonch-Rawlakot checkpoints, and the lists of items to be traded on both sides have already been exchanged. Army foils second infiltration bid : J&K

The Security forces foiled the second infiltration bid in two days when they gunned down four intruders on Sunday night along the Line of Control in north Kashmir.
