The Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy will step down this evening, said the Home Minister M P Prakash. Following a meeting of the Janata Dal-Secular legislature party in the evening, the CM would submit his resignaton. After that a floor test would be undertaken.

The Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy has stated that he will be stepping down on October 3 on the basis of a power-sharing accord with ally BJP. He also said that several legislators were in favour of his continuing as Chief Minister till JD(S)-BJP resolved the power transfer issue.
