Kolkata: A woman admitted in Behala’s Vidyasagar State General Hospital gave birth unattended on the ward floor. Her relatives, who later took her to a private hospital, have filed a complaint with the hospital authorities and plan to approach the police as well.
A resident of IIM-C’s Joka campus, 23-year-old Chanda Devi was admitted in the maternity ward on November 22.

Peter Thangaraj, the towering Indian goalkeeper who twice figured in the Asian All-star football team in the 1960s, passed away in Bokaro on Monday night.
Thangaraj, 72, died of a massive heart attack, a source close to the family said.
An Arjuna awardee, Thangaraj suffered bouts of vomiting on Monday morning and was admitted to the Bokaro General Hospital. He passed away at 11.30 pm.
