Chitradurga: Sharana Samskriti Utsava, a 10-day cultural and spiritual event, will begin here on October 2, according to a press release issued by Shivamurthy Murughaswamy of Murugharajendra Math.

India's first woman IPS officer Kiran Bedi has decided to quit the uniform.
When asked if the Magsaysay award winner, known for the reforms she carried out in Tihar Jail and her stint in the United Nations, will continue her social work, she said, “My focus would be protection against crime, social reforms and protection of women.”

Kiran Bedi, the country's first woman IPS officer returned to work on Friday after deciding not to continue with her protest leave following the appointment of her junior Y S Dadwal as Delhi Police Commissioner. The Government's decision to name Yudhbir Singh Dadwal as the Delhi police chief ahead of Kiran Bedi has been resented by the constabulary and junior officers.
