The Minister for Overseas Indian Affairs Vayalar Ravi said that henceforth Indians visiting foreign countries will not have to bother about the 'emigration check required' clause on their passports. "The government is soon going to do away with the system of giving suspension to ECR status to people going abroad on visit visas," Vayalar Ravi said at a fumction.

Training to be provided to house-maids before emigration

Indian women seeking employment abroad as housemaids or domestic workers will be given training in a bid to regulate their emigration as well as protect them from any kind of abuse, according to Women and Child Development Minister Renuka Chowdhury.
